Tulsa, OK – The world of E-Sports has a new legend, but some are calling for his head. Located in a small town near Tulsa, OK, Alex Brewster has taken the competitive gaming scene by storm by utilizing a new technique. However, some in the gaming world are outraged, and have been calling for the Powers That Be to implement new regulations for major events.
We caught up with Mr. Brewster at an event in Dallas to ask him about his technique. “Have you seen my pants,” he asked before we had an opportunity to ask any questions. “My keys were in those pants.”
Finally, after an hour of searching for his pants, his focus shifted dramatically, and we were able to discuss the issue. “It’s not a technique,” he started. “I call it PAP, or Peek Alcohol Performance. It’s like becoming Patrick Mahomes in the 4th quarter, or Michael Jordan in the finals, or Super Saiyan, or…” Once again, his attention shifted as we walked within several feet of a beer vendor.
To save time, the idea behind Peek Alcohol Performance is to consume just enough alcohol while gaming to create a sort of lock, or tunnel vision, for the player. To counteract the effects of alcohol in which the consumer typically feels tired or sluggish, Alex has carefully balanced his intake with energy drinks; which he tells us is around four beers to one energy drink. “It’s really just understanding your body. If I start feeling tired, I grab an energy drink. If I’m feeling too jittery, I grab a few more beers. It’s science.”
Not all of his counterparts are convinced that this type of performance enhancement should be allowed. One player, wishing to remain anonymous, told us, “I’m twelve. My parents won’t let me have energy drinks.”
While the jury is still out on whether or not this technique is legal within the gaming world, Brewster continued his dominance in Dallas late into the evening. It wasn’t until last call that he was finally defeated, taking home 4th place in overall points at the event.
